“Come on China! Come on! Hurry!” you cried. You grabbed his hand and pulled him into one of the many living rooms of the palace.
“What is it aru?”
“Let’s play!”
“Play? What? I don’t have time for play aru.” He said frowning.
“All you ever do is work. Please China?” you pleaded.
“…Fine aru…. what do you want to play?”
“Hide and Seek!” you exclaimed.
“Hide and Seek aru? You sure?” he asked skeptical at the thought of the game. “ I haven’t played that for years.”
“Yes, you're it. Come find me.”
“Fine,” he said giving in to your wishes, “…. 1 2 3… 4,” You squealed and ran from the room in search of a hiding place. You ran from room to room looking for the perfect place. In the distance you heard China call, “Ready or not here I come.” and then the padding of his feet on the wood floors. Panicked, you hid in a near by coat closet.
“(Y/n), where are you? Come on, (y/n)!”
You stifled a giggled as you heard him calling you. Then just as he neared your hiding place, you crouched ready to spring.
Just as his stood outside the door you sprung from the closet and onto him. “China, here I am!” you said as you collided into him and crashed to the floor.
“(Y/n) what the?!” he cried as you pushed him to the ground.
“What’s wrong?” you asked, smiling as you lay on top of him.
“Nothing aru…it’s just your on top of me and-“ you cut him off with a light kiss. “What was that for aru?!”
“You’ve been working too hard.” You said calmly. “You need to cool down a bit.” You sat up and stared down at him, “You haven’t caught me yet.” With a devilish grin you leaped up and spirited off like a deer.
“You come back here!” he yelled after you, but you could tell he was enjoying himself.
He chased after you and you ran all over the estate, though the gardens, and sittings rooms, through the library with it’s towering ceiling, and it wasn’t until you ran into the south wing garden did he catch you.
“I got you!” he exclaimed as he grabbed you around the waist as you dashed past a fountain and a couple of crane statues standing in a bed of flowers.
“Eeeck!” you both went, tumbling though the grass until it was he who was on top of you.
“I guess you caught me,” you said wistfully.
“What does that mean?” he asked. His hair was slipping into his face and the setting sun reflected in his eyes. You could see your rumpled clothes and a smudge of dirt on your check in his eyes too. His red shirt shown as the sun bounced off it and all around everything seemed to slow down and disappear.
“Nothing,” you replied coolly, trying not to give in to those deep brown eyes.
Then he slowly bent down and kissed you gently, running his fingers though your loose hair. When he finally pulled away, he whispered, “You're mine and I’ll will always be there to catch you.”
